Running monthly or weekly challenges that would award the top user with some sort of ranking or badge

Customizable invites would allow participants to invite their friends to activities with personalized messages

Not sure if this is part of the new app but when you click "invite friends" it would be great if you could invite people through social channels like FB and IG as well as friends that already have the app!
